Dr. Amy Fritz-Ocock is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist who holds a doctoral degree in special education. Amy specializes in working with children and adults with high-functioning ASD and their family members. She uses a constructive cognitive behavioral approach that teaches individuals with pragmatic challenges to carefully consider situations and the consequences of their actions. This promotes effective communication, rewarding social interactions, and increased emotional regulation.

Before opening Cedar Tree Communication Therapy, Amy was an Autism Disorders Specialist at the University of Central Florida’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities for over 5 years. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor and Clinical Supervisor at Ball State University in Indiana for nearly 6 years and a speech-language pathologist in Hilliard City School District in Ohio for nearly a decade. In addition, Amy intermittently maintained a private speech-language pathology and consultation practice since 2000.

Along with her extensive professional and academic experience, Amy’s daughter has high-functioning ASD. This has provided invaluable personal experience that further informs her work with clients and their loved ones.
